MINUTES


Representative Steve Smith, Chair of the Public Safety Policy and Finance Committee, called the fiftieth meeting to order at 10:18 a.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2006 in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Clerk noted the roll.

Rep. Newman moved approval of the minutes of March 23, 2006, Public Safety Policy and Finance Meeting. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Smith moved HF1443 (Emmer) relating to Voter registration proof of citizenship and picture identification required, and identification cards provided at no charge to specified individuals.

Rep. Smith moved to amend HF1443 with the A3 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Smith renewed his motion that HF1443, be recommended, to pass, as amended, and be referred to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.


Rep. Smith removed HF3312 (Holberg) relating to Commercial driver's license revocation provision federal conformity provided, and definitions and driver's license content modified as amended, from the table.

Rep. Smith moved to pass HF3312, as amended, and be referred to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.


Rep. Cornish moved HF3389 (Cornish) relating to Bureau of Criminal Apprehension name and event index service classified.

Rep. Cornish presented HF3389.
