MINUTES


Representative Phil Krinkie, Chair of the Taxes Committee, called the twenty-ninth meeting to order at 8:51 a.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2005, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Clerk noted the roll.

Chairman Krinkie asked staff to provide the committee with an overview of the updated spreadsheet covering Taxes, Local Aids and Credits in the amendment labeled A05-0792.

Chairman Krinkie moved HF 785 to be passed and re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Chairman Krinkie moved the amendment labeled A05-0792 as amended to be adopted and incorporated into HF 785.

Representative Pete Nelson moved the amendment labeled H0785A98 to be adopted and incorporated into the amendment labeled A05-0792.
THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT TO THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Sieben moved the amendment labeled H0785A50 to be adopted and incorporated into the amendment labeled A05-0792.

Rep. Rukavina moved the H0785A35 to be adopted and incorporated into the amendment labeled A05-0792.

Rep. Rukavina withdrew H0785A35 amendment.

The committee stood in recess at 11:34 a.m. to the call of the Chairman.

Vice Chairman Simpson reconvened the Tax Committee meeting at 9:03 p.m.

Rep. Davids moved 785A89 to be adopted and incorporated into the amendment labeled A05-0792.

Rep. Mullery called for division.

Rep. Dorman moved the H0785A24 amendment to be adopted and incorporated into the amendment labeled A05-0792.

Rep. Lenczewski moved the following oral amendment to be incorporated into H0785A24:
After line 2, insert Page 17, delete Section 1.

Rep. Krinkie resumed the Chair at 9:17PM.

Rep. Dill moved the H0785A56 amendment to be adopted and incorporated into the amendment labeled A05-0792.

Rep. Lenczewski moved the A05-0822 amendment to be adopted and incorporated into the amendment labeled A05-0792.

Rep. Lenczewski withdrew the A05-0822 amendment.

Rep. Jaros moved the H0785A103 amendment to be adopted and incorporated into the amendment labeled A05-0792.

Rep. Davnie moved the H0785A96 amendment and incorporated the following oral amendment:
Page 1, Line 7, delete “$427,952,000, and insert $427,152,212”.
Page 1, Line 9, delete “$441,152,000” and insert $440,245,000”.
Page 1, Line 11, delete “$423,652,000” and insert “$422,747,000”.

A Division was called.

With 14 ayes and 15 nays THE MOTION DID NOT PREVAIL AND THE AMENDMENT TO THE AMENDMENT WAS NOT ADOPTED.

Rep. Dorman moved the following oral amendment to A05-0792:
Page 83, line 6, delete “for first class cities” and delete comma.
Page 83 line 35 delete new language on 35 and 36.

Rep. Dorman withdraws his oral amendment.

Rep. Lenczewski moved the H0785A18 amendment to be adopted and incorporated into the amendment labeled A05-0792.

THE MOTION DID NOT PREVAIL AND THE AMENDMENT WAS NOT ADOPTED.

Rep. Mullery moved H0785A58 amendment to be adopted and incorporated into the amendment labeled A05-0792.

A Division was called.
