Representative Jim Knoblach, Chair of the Ways & Means Committee, began the fifth meeting at 12:34 p.m. on January 31, 2005 in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

A Department of Finance overview of Governor Pawlenty's proposed budget was given by Peggy Ingison, Commissioner, MN Department of Finance and James Schowalter, Assistant Commissioner/State Budget Director, MN Department of Finance.
Representative Knoblach called the meeting officially to order at 12:38 p.m. A quorum was present.
Representative Sykora moved that the minutes of January 24, 2005 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
The meeting was adorned at 2:32 p.m.
