STATE OF MINNESOTA TWENTY-SECOND MEETING
HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES EIGHTY-SIXTH SESSION
AGRICULTURE, RURAL ECONOMIES AND VETERANS AFFAIRS COMMITTEE
Representative Otremba, Chair of the Committee, called the meeting to order at 3:17 P.M. on March 3, 2008, in Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.
Jody Hauer, Office of the Legislative Auditor Office, State of Minnesota, presented their report on "Green Acres" and Agricultural Land Preservation Programs to the committee.
Mr. Leon Poole, Hennepin County, clarified how land cannot be divided. Believes Green Acres is a waste of taxpayer's money.
Rep. Hosch moved approval of the minutes from February 27, 2008.
THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE MINUTES WERE ADOPTED.
Chairman Juhnke moved HF3392, be recommended to pass and re-referred to Committee on Commerce and Labor.
Representative Juhnke moved to amend HF 3392, as follows:
Page 1, line 2, delete "to sell product at farmer's"
Page 1, line 3, delete "markets and"
THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
Representative Juhnke, explained HF 3392, relating to farm wineries; allowing farm wineries to sell product at farmer’s markets and to manufacture cognacs and brandies;

Representative Juhnke renewed his motion that HF 3392, be recommended to pass as amended and re-referred to Committee on Commerce and Labor.
