MINUTES


Representative Joe Atkins, Chair of the Commerce and Labor Committee, called the meeting to order at 4:02 P.M. on January 23, 2007, in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

No members were absent or excused.

A quorum was present.

Buzz Anderson of the Minnesota Retailers Association gave a brief overview and answered questions from the committee.

HF211 Zellers Mortgage application information sale prohibited.

Representative Zellers testified on HF211.

Representative Zellers moved the DE3 Amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Zellers moved to orally amend HF211 by: L 1.12, after the period, insert "For purposes of this subdivision, "third-party" does not include an affiliate of the consumer reporting agency or other business entity." THE ORAL AMENDMENT WAS INCORPORATED.

Zellers moved that HF211 be recommended to pass, as amended, and re-referred to the Committee on Public Safety and Civil Justice. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:31 P.M.
