COMMERCE AND LABOR COMMITTEE
MINUTES
Representative Sheldon Johnson, Chair of the Telecommunications Regulation and Infrastructure Division, called the meeting to order at 8:05 A.M. on January 26, 2007, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Johnson called the meeting to order at 8:05 A.M. A quorum was present.
Representative Sailer moved that the minutes of January 19, 2007 be adopted.
THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Dan Lipschultz from Moss and Barnett and Jeff Oxley from Eschelon Telecommunications gave an overview of competitive local exchange carriers.
City of Monticello representatives, Lynn Fleming from the Fiber Optics Task Force and
Wayne Mayer, City Council member gave an overview to division members.
City of Buffalo representatives, Chris Schinnick, MIS Coordinator and Joseph Steffe, Utilities Director, gave and overview to division members. A handout "BWIG.net" was given to division members.
Judy Bodway, Director of Economic Development for the City of Winona, gave an overview
to division members.
Tom Riordan, Mayor, City of Windom and Steve Nasby, City Administrator, City of Windom gave an overview to division members. A handout "Role of the State of Minnesota in Telecommunications" was given to division members. Division members were also given a copy of the overview "Windom.net".
Unplugged Cities, City of Saint Louis Park, President Paul Kralovec, Unplugged Cities gave an overview to division members. A handout "Parkwifi.com" was given to division members. This is also online @ Parkwifi.com.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:36 A.M.
