COMMERCE AND LABOR COMMITTEE
MINUTES
Representative Sheldon Johnson, Chair of the Telecommunications Regulation and Infrastructure Division, called the meeting to order at 8:09 A.M. on February 2, 2007, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Johnson called the meeting to order at 8:09 A.M. A quorum was present.
Chair Johnson explained to members that the division would be accepting live comments over the web and that emails will be handled during the division when appropriate.
Representative Hilty moved that the minutes of January 26, 2007 be adopted.
THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Gopal Khanna, Chief Information Officer for the Office of Enterprise Technology gave an overview of the Office of Enterprise Technology. Jack Reis, project manager from the Office of Enterprise Technology and Steve Holland Director of ECMET also testified on behalf of the Office. A handout of the testimony was given to division members.
Mike Wassenaar, Executive Director for the St. Paul Neighborhood Network gave an overview to the division. A handout of the testimony was given to division members.
Representative Masin moved that HF116 (Atkins) relating to commerce: imposing certain customer sales or service call center requirements; prescribing a criminal penalty.
Tim Lovaasen, President of the Communications Workers of American, Lee Graczyk, Executive Director of the Minnesota Senior Federation and Brian Bergson, Director of Legislative Affairs for the Attorney General gave testimony regarding HF 116.
Tom Hesse, Vice President of Government Affairs, Minnesota Chamber of Commerce and Buzz Anderson, President of the Minnesota Retailers Association gave testimony regarding HF 116.
Representative Masin renewed her motion that HF116 be recommended to pass and sent to the committee on Commerce and Labor.
