Representative Al Juhnke, Chair, called the twenty-eighth meeting to order at 10:05AM on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 in Basement of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.
Bruce Kleven, Bryan Hest and Blake Vander Vorst, MN Wheat Growers Association gave an update on wheat production in Minnesota.
Discussion and questions followed.
Representative Shimanski moved that the minutes of February 27, 2008 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Gilbert Acevedo, Deputy Commissioner, Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs, and Mike Pugliese, Deputy Commissioner, Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs discussed the department's budget proposal.
Discussion and questions followed.
Quinn Cheney, Policy Director, MN Department of Agriculture, presented the department’s supplemental budget request.
