MINUTES


Representative Nora Slawik, Chair of the Early Childhood Learning Finance Division, called the meeting to order at 4:20 pm on Thursday, March 06, 2008, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was not present.

A quorum was present at 4:22 pm.

Representative Bly moved that HF 2185 (Lanning) Healthy child development within communities grant program established, and money appropriated, be heard and laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Early Childhood Learning Finance Division bill.

Representative Fritz moved the H2185A1 amendment (attached). THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Bly moved that HF 2185, as amended, be laid on the table.

Representative Laine moved that the minutes from Tuesday, March 4, 2008, be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative S. Peterson moved that HF 3290 (Peterson, S) School readiness assessments and kindergarten transition strategies provided, and money appropriated, be heard and laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Early Childhood Learning Finance Division bill.

Representative S. Peterson moved the H3290A1 amendment (attached). THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative S. Peterson moved that HF 3290, as amended, be laid on the table.

Representative Fritz assumed the gavel at 5:20 pm.

Representative Slawik moved that HF 2984 (Slawik) School-age care program modified, be heard and laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Early Childhood Learning Finance Division bill.

Representative Slawik moved that HF 2984 be laid on the table.

Representative Slawik assumed the gavel at 5:28 pm.

Representative Winkler moved that HF 3246 (Winkler) Adult basic education aid modified, be heard and laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Early Childhood Learning Finance Division bill.

Representative Winkler moved that HF 3246 be laid on the table.

The meeting was adjourned at 5:32 pm.
