MINUTES


Representative Sailer called the meeting to order at 4:09 PM. On March 20, 2007, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was not present.

Representative Jaros moved HF 1660 be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill.

HF 1660-Representative Jaros
A bill for an act relating to Minnesota Heritage finance; appropriating money for studies and planning activities related to the St. Louis County Heritage and Arts Center.

The following people provided testimony on the bill:

A bill for an act relating to economic development; appropriating money for the Minnesota Film and TV Board; amending Laws 2006, chapter 282, article 11, section 6.

Representative Jaros moved HF 756 be passed and referred to Finance with recommendation it be sent to the consent calendar.

HF 756-Doty
A bill for an act relating to local government; removing restrictions on the sale or lease of certain property listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

A bill for an act relating to the Minnesota Historical Society; appropriating money for a grant-in-aid program for county and local historical societies.

A bill for an act relating to historic preservation; appropriating money for a grant to the Hmong Studies Center.

Oral amendment offered by Representative Sailer:

On line 1.7 after 2007 insert:

Of the amount appropriated to the Minnesota Humanities Commission, 10% will be dedicated to eligible Lifelong Learning Programs. Eligible Organizations include: Lifelong learning organizations in greater Minnesota communities, which do not receive financial support from other educational institutions.

THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED

HF 2050 was laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill.

Representative Bly moved that the minutes from March 19, 2007 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The meeting was adjourned at 5:15 PM
