MINUTES


Representative Mike Jaros, Chair of the Minnesota Heritage Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 4:07 PM. On March 17, 2008, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Chair Jaros moved HF 4063 be held over for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill.

HF 4063-Jaros
Allowing the Indian Affairs Council to conduct meetings by telephone or by electronic means.

The following people provided testimony on HF 4063:
Anna Marie Hill, Executive Director of the Indian Affairs Council

Chair Jaros renewed his motion that HF 4063 be held over for possible inclusion.

A quorum was present at 4:14 PM.

Chair Jaros moved HF 2706 be passed and re-referred to the Finance Committee.

HF 2706-Doty
Camp Ripley military museum funding provided, and money appropriated.

Chair Jaros renewed his motion that HF 2706 be passed and re-referred to the Finance Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Jaros moved HF 2895 be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill.

HF 2895-Loeffler
Minnesota Sesquicentennial Commission funding provided for the celebration of Minnesota's 150th anniversary of statehood and money appropriated.

The following provided testimony on HF 2895:

Jane Leonard, Executive Director of the Sesquicentennial commission.

Chair Jaros renewed his motion that HF 2895 be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill.

Representative Sailer moved HF 3356 be held over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill.

Explore Minnesota Tourism rental-lodging study required, definitions created, and report required.

Representative Sailer renewed her motion that HF 3356 be held over for possible inclusion.

Representative Modore moved that the minutes from February 21, 2008 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Bly moved that the minutes from March 3, 2008 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
