MINUTES


Representative Kahn, Chair of the Division, called the meeting to order at 2:20 P.M. on March 20, 2007 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was not present.

HF 83 (Hanson) - Legislative auditor authorized to retain certain audit fees.

Representative Kahn moved that HF 83 be heard and laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus State Government Finance bill.

Representative Hanson and Jim Nobles, Legislative Auditor, testified in support of HF 83.

A quorum was present at 2:26 P.M.

HF 1519 (Murphy, E.) - Capitol Area Architectural and Planning Board appropriations provided from money received by the board from other public bodies, decennial comprehensive planning and zoning review funding provided, and money appropriated.

Representative Kahn moved that HF 1519 be heard and laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus State Government Finance bill.

Representative Erin Murphy and Nancy Stark, Capitol Area Architectural and Planning Board, testified in support of HF 1519.

SF 255 (Wergin)/HF 137 (Haws) - Veteran-owned small businesses designated as targeted group businesses for purposes of awarding state and metro agency procurement contracts.

Representative Bigham moved that SF 255 be heard and laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus State Government Finance bill.

Representative Haws, Representative Severson and Kent Allin, Materials Management Director, Department of Administration, testified in support of SF 255.

HF 1616 (Mariani) - Legislative Commission to End Poverty in Minnesota by 2020 funding provided, and money appropriated.

Representative Kahn moved that HF 1616 be heard and laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus State Government Finance bill.

Representative Mariani, Brian Rusche, Executive Director, Joint Religious Legislative Coaltion and Arnie Anderson, Executive Director, Minnesota Community Action Partnership, testified in support of HF 1616.

HF 1526 (Simon) - Fair Campaign Practices Act complaints hearing funding provided, and money appropriated.

Representative Hortman moved that HF 1526 be heard and laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus State Government Finance bill.

Representative Simon testified in support of HF 1526.

Representative Bigham moved that the minutes of March 15, 2007 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The meeting was adjourned at 3:29 P.M.
