MINUTES


Representative Hornstein, Chair of the Committee, called the meeting to order
at 2:17 P.M. on, Wednesday, February 28, 2007, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

HF 1219 Junke

Rep. Hornstein moved HF 1219 be recommended to pass and rereferred to the Committee on Transportation Finance and Policy. Assisting Rep. Junke in presenting the bill were Bruce Kleven, Lobbyist, Association of Dairy Cooperatives and Betsy Parker, Director of Government Affairs, MnDOT. Rep. Hornstein's motion was renewed. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

A quorum was present. Rep. Erhardt moved that the minutes of Wednesday, February 21, 2007 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 1059 Madore

Rep. Madore moved that HF 1059, be recommended to pass and rereferred to the Committee on Transportation Finance and Policy. Rep. Madore moved to amend HF 1059 with H1059DE2. THE MOTION PREVAILED. Assisting Rep. Madore in presenting the bill was Pat McCormack, Director, Department of Vehicle Services (DVS), MnDOT. Rep. Madore moved that HF 1059, as amended, be recommended to pass and rereferred to the Committee on Transportation Finance and Policy. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 1060 Madore

Rep. Madore moved that HF 1060 be recommended to pass and rereferred to the Committee on Transportation Finance and Policy. Pat McCormack, Director, Driver and Vehicle Services, MnDOT, assisted in presenting the bill.
Rep. Madore renewed her motion. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Madore moved that HF 1061 be recommended to pass and rereferred to the Committee on Transportation Finance and Policy. After presenting the bill Rep. Madore renewed her motion. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 818 Hortman

Rep. Hortman moved HF 818. Rep. Hortman moved amendment A07-0137. THE MOTION PREVAILED. Rep. Hortman moved to amend the A07-0137 amendment as follows:

Page 2, line 4, delete the first "and" and after "3a" insert ", 4, 5, and 6"

THE MOTION PREVAILED. Eric Rudeen, MnDOT and Department of Public Safety, Minnesota State Troopers, Majors Al Smith and Michele Tuchner assisted in responding to member's questions. Pierre Willette, Lobbyist, City of Minneapolis, provided information.

Rep. Severson moved the H0818A1 amendment. After committee discussion, Rep. Severson withdrew his amendment.

Rep. Hortman moved that HF 818, as amended, be recommended to pass and rereferred to the Committee on Transportation Finance and Policy. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The meeting was adjourned at 3:15 P.M.
