Representative Mullery, Chair, called the meeting to order at 12:35 P.M. on Thursday, February 15, 2007, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Cornish moved approval of the Minutes for February 8, 2007. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES WERE APPROVED.

HF116 (Atkins): A bill for an act relating to commerce; imposing certain customer sales or service call center requirements; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 325E.

Chair Mullery moved that HF116 be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register.

Representative Atkins present HF116.

Chair Mullery renewed the motion that HF116 be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF367 (Johnson): A bill for an act relating to Ramsey County; modifying corrections provisions; amending Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 383A.08, subdivisions 6, 7.

Representative Johnson presented HF367.

Chair Mullery moved the bill be heard and laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus Public Safety and Civil Justice Policy Committee bill.


HF425 (Paymar): A bill for an act relating to crime; creating a motor vehicle theft account; authorizing emergency grants to victims of motor vehicle theft; appropriating money; amending Minnesota Statutes 2006, sections 65B.84, subdivision 1; 168A.40, subdivision 4; 611A.612; 611A.675, subdivisions 1, 2, 3, 4, by adding a subdivision.

Representative Paymar presented HF425.

Representative Paymar moved the A2 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Paymar moved that HF425, as amended, be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Finance with a recommended re-referral to the Public Safety and Civil Justice Finance Division.

The meeting was adjourned at 1:40 P.M.
