MINUTES

Representative Ann Lenczewski, Chair of the Committee, called the meeting to order at 4:52 P.M. on April 17, 2008 in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Jaros moved HF4127 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Tax Bill.

HF4127-Jaros-School district lease purchase agreements limited.

Representative Jaros moved amendment H4127A2 (ATTACHED). THE MOTION PREVAILED, THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

The following people testified on HF4127: Harry Welty, former member, Duluth School Board; Gary Glass, Board Member, Duluth School Board; Nancy Nilsen, Chair, Duluth School Board; Keith Dixon, Superintendent, Duluth Public Schools; State Representative Mary Murphy; Senator Yvonne Prettner Solon; Tom Melcher, Department of Education; Ron Soberg, Duluth School District.

Representative Dill moved amendment H4127A3 (ATTACHED).

Representative Dill withdrew his motion.

HF4127 was laid over as amended for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Tax Bill.
Representative Lenczewski moved HF3030 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Tax Bill.

HF3030-Morgan-Two-wheel motorized vehicles exempted from metropolitan county wheelage tax.

HF3030 was laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Tax Bill.

Representative Lenczewski moved HF2467 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Tax Bill.

HF2467-Thissen- Metropolitan Airports Commission nondebt levy authority eliminated, and new bonding by the commission prohibited.

The following people testified on HF2467: Susan Warner-Dooley, Deputy Executive Director, Metropolitan Airports Commission; Steve Busch, Director of Finance, Metropolitan Airports Commission.

HF2467 was laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Tax Bill.

Representative Jaros moved HF2781 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Tax Bill.

HF2781-Jaros-Disaster response vehicles exempted from registration tax and fees.

HF2781 was laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Tax Bill.

Representative Lenczewski moved HF4078 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Tax Bill.
