MINUTES


Representative Mindy Greiling, Chair of the Committee, called the meeting to order at 2:45PM on February 9, 2010, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Benson moved the minutes of January 6, 2010 be adopted.
THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Brown moved the minutes of January 27, 2010 be adopted.
THE MOTION PREVAILED.


Judy Randall, Evaluation Manager, Office of the Legislative Auditor, provided an overview of the Legislative Auditor evaluation report "Alternative Learning Programs."

Greg Crowe, House Fiscal Analyst, offered an explanation of extended time funding in relation to alternative learning programming.

Karen Klinzing, Assistant Commissioner, Minnesota Department of Education, and Glory Kibbel, School Improvement Supervisor, Minnesota Department of Education, provided MDE’s response to the Legislative Auditor evaluation report.

Public testimony on the Legislative Auditor evaluation report was provided by the following individuals:
Steven Allen, President, Minnesota Association of Alternative Programs

Representative Bly commented on alternative learning programming in Minnesota.


The meeting was adjourned at 4:05PM.
