MINUTES


Representative Mindy Greiling, Chair of the Committee, called the meeting to order at 2:45PM on March 24, 2009, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Brown moved the minutes of March 19, 2009 be adopted.
THE MOTION PREVAILED.


HF116 (Ward) A bill for an act relating to pupil transportation; modifying qualifications for type III school bus drivers.

Representative Ward moved that HF116 be recommended to pass and be returned to the Finance Committee.

Representative Ward testified.

Representative Ward renewed his motion that HF116 be recommended to pass and be returned to the Finance Committee.
THE MOTION PREVAILED.


HF2072 (Greiling) A bill for an act relating to education finance; updating a reference; amending Minnesota Statutes 2008, section 126C.05, subdivision 2.

Representative Greiling moved that HF2072 be recommended to pass and be returned to the Finance Committee.

Representative Greiling testified.

Representative Greiling renewed her motion that HF2072 be recommended to pass and be returned to the Finance Committee.
THE MOTION PREVAILED.


HF2073 (Greiling) A bill for an act relating to education finance; removing an obsolete reference; amending Minnesota Statutes 2008, section 126C.10, subdivision 1.

Representative Greiling moved that HF2073 be recommended to pass and be returned to the Finance Committee.

Representative Greiling testified.

Representative Greiling renewed her motion that HF2073 be recommended to pass and be returned to the Finance Committee.
THE MOTION PREVAILED.


HF466 (Carlson) A bill for an act relating to education; establishing a State Board of Education.

Representative Greiling moved that HF466 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus K-12 Education Finance Bill.

Representative Greiling offered H0466A1 as an amendment to HF466.
THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Carlson testified.

Representative Greiling renewed her motion that HF466, as amended, be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus K-12 Education Finance Bill.


HF106 (Swails) A bill for an act relating to education; establishing a P-20 education partnership.

Representative Swails moved that HF106 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus K-12 Education Finance Bill.

Representative Swails testified.

Representative Swails renewed her motion that HF106 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus K-12 Education Finance Bill.


The meeting was adjourned at 3:30PM.
