Representative Michael Paymar, Chair of the Public Safety Finance Division Committee, called the thirty first meeting to order at 8:34 a.m., Tuesday, March 2, 2010, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Presentations on the importance of funding programs to curb sexual violence.

Testified on state funding and how cuts will impact level of service for victims of domestic violence.

Presentation from the Office of Justice Programs on American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Spending.

Testified for the Office of Justice Programs:

Tricia Hummel, Director, Drug Policy and Violence Prevention, Office of Justice Programs.

Frank Ahrens, Finance Director, Minnesota Department of Public Safety.

Presentation from the Department of Corrections on the Adam Walsh Act.

Presenting for the Department of Corrections:

Harry Kennedy, Senior Administration Officer, Minnesota Department of Corrections.

Testified in opposition to the Adam Walsh Act:

Dr. Mark Thompson, Minnesota Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers.
