Representative Bernie Lieder, Chair of the House Transportation Finance & Policy Division called the meeting to order at 4:43 P.M. on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

HF 8, Third Engrossment (Simon) Minnesota False Claims Act established. Rep. Hortman moved the bill before the committee. Scott Peterson, MnDOT, spoke to the bill. After committee discussion, Rep. Hortman moved that HF 8, third engrossment, be recommended to pass and returned to the Finance Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Holberg moved adoption of the minutes from April 14, 2009. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 1164 (Liebling) Driver's license cumulative suspensions halted. Rep. Morrow moved the bill before the committee. Pat McCormack, Dept. of Public Safety, spoke to the bill. Rep. Morrow moved the H1164A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. Rep. Morrow moved that HF 1164, as amended, be placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 2116 (Hansen) Vehicle transaction fees increased, acceptable methods of payment provided and surcharge imposed. Rep. Reinert moved the bill before the committee. The following spoke to the bill:

Rep. Reinert moved that HF 2116 be recommended to pass and returned to the Finance Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
