Representative Hornstein, Chair of the Transportation and Transit Policy and Oversight Division called the meeting to order at 4:33 P.M. on Thursday, March 4, 2010 in Room of the State Office Building. The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the House roll.

HF2956 (Koenen) Indian tribal government authorized conveyance of land no longer needed for trunk highway purposes. Kevin Jensvold, Chair of the Upper Sioux Community assisted in presenting the bill. Rep. Hornstein moved adoption of the HRD 1 handwritten amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. Rep. Hornstein moved that HF 2956, as amended, be recommended to pass and placed on the Consent Calendar. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
HF3072 (Bigham) Lane into which left turns must be made specified. Rep. Hornstein moved adoption of the H3072A3 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. Officer Bob Felix, City of St. Paul Park, assisted in presenting the bill. Rep. Hornstein moved that HF 3072, as amended, be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
HF2888 (Bigham) Careless driving resulting in death; criminal penalty provided. Rep. Morrow and Bigham presented the bill to the committee. Sharon Driscoll, ???, answered committee questions. Rep. Hornstein moved that HF 2888 be recommended to pass and placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
HF 2920 (Welti) Motor vehicle definition clarified. Rep. Welti moved adoption of the
H2920A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. The following spoke to the bill:

Rep. Swails moved that HF 2804, as amended, be passed to the Commerce Committee. A voice vote was taken, the Chair was unclear and requested a division by asking for a show of hands. The vote was 6 in favor and 6 in opposition, because of the tie vote the motion did not prevail.
