MINUTES



Representative Otremba, Chair of the Committee, called the meeting to order at 2:51 P.M. on, March 4, 2009, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Olin moved approval of the minutes from March 2, 2009.
THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE MINUTES WERE ADOPTED.

Representative Doty moved adoption of HF671 Division Report
THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE DIVISION REPORT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Doty moved HF671 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Environmental Policy and Oversight.

HF671 (Dettmer) relating to veterans; eliminating the residency requirement for a complimentary state park pass for a veteran with total and permanent service-connected disability;

Rep. Dettmer explained HF671 to the committee.

Representative Doty renewed his motion that HF671 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Environmental Policy and Oversight
THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Doty moved adoption of HF715 Division Report
THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE DIVISION REPORT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Doty moved HF715 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on State Government Finance.

HF715 (Newton) relating to state procurement; designating businesses owned by disabled veterans as targeted group businesses for purposes of awarding certain state and metropolitan agency contracts;

Representative Doty moves to amend HF715 as follows (H0715A1)
THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Doty withdraws his original motion to move HF715 to the Committee on State Government Finance and recommended HF715 to pass, as amended, and re-referred to the Committee on Finance.

Representative Doty moved adoption of HF905 Division Report
THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE DIVISION REPORT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Doty moved HF905 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Finance.

Representative Doty moves to amend HF905, the first engrossment, as follows:

Page 1, line 10, after "practical" insert "pursuant to sections 16C.08 and 16C.09"
THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

HF905 (Doty) relating to the military; providing for acceptance of certain services by commissioner of military affairs;

Representative Doty explained HF905 to the committee and took questions from the members.

Representative Doty renewed his motion that HF905 be recommended to pass, as amended, and re-referred to the Committee on Finance.
