CIVIL JUSTICE POLICY COMMITTEE MINUTES



Representative Mullery, Chair, called the meeting to order at 4:34 P.M. on Monday, March 2, 2009, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Mahoney moved approval of the Minutes for February 25, 2009. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Paymar moved to reconsider Representative Hilstrom’s motion of February 25, 2009, that HF130-1E be recommended to pass, as amended, and when so passed be re-referred to the Committee on Public Safety Policy and Oversight.

Representative Hilstrom requested a Roll Call. The clerk called the Roll and the results were as follows:

HF887 (Lesch): A bill for an act relating to child support; requiring collection service fees to be paid by obligor; amending Minnesota Statutes 2008, section 518A.51.

Representative Champion moved the bill before the committee, and moved that HF887 be laid over.

Representative Lesch presented his bill.

Jill Olson, Department of Human Services, answered questions from the committee.

The bill was laid over.

HF1003 (Mahoney): A bill for an act relating to family law; changing a rebuttable presumption of minimum parenting time; specifying factors for rebuttal; changing a parenting expense adjustment; amending Minnesota Statutes 2008, sections 518.175, subdivision 1; 518A.36, subdivision 2.

Representative Mahoney moved that HF1003 be recommended to pass and when so passed be placed on the General Register.

Representative Mahoney presented his bill.
