Representative Paul Thissen, Chair of the Health Care and Human Services Policy and Oversight Committee, called the meeting to order at 2:50 P.M. on Thursday, February 11, 2010 in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Bunn moved the minutes of February 9, 2010 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF112 (Nelson) Intermediate care facilities for persons with developmental disabilities licensure authorized to replace one larger facility, transition period rate and payment rate for the new facilities established, and money appropriated.

Representative Thissen moved that HF112 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Finance.

Representative Nelson presented the bill.

Providing testimony in support of the bill:

Don Priebe, CEO, Homeward Bound, Inc.

Representative Thissen renewed his motion that HF112 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF298 (Gardner) Day training and habilitation insurance provisions changed, liability limits set, age limit changed for operators of vehicles for hire, commissioner directed to seek a federal waiver, and a sales tax exemption allowed for certain vehicles.

Representative Gardner moved that HF298 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Finance.

Representative Gardner moved the A10-2040 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Gardner renewed his motion that HF298, as amended, be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Liebling assumed the gavel at 3:15 P.M.

HF2589 (Thissen) Comprehensive advanced life-support educational program transferred to the commissioner of health.

Representative Thissen moved that HF2589 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the General Register.

Representative Thissen presented the bill.

Representative Thissen renewed his motion that HF2589 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the General Register. MOTION PREVAILED.
