MINUTES


Representative Mahoney, Chair of the Bioscience and Workforce Development Policy and Oversight Division called the meeting to order at 10:45 A.M. on January 28, 2009 in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Gottwalt moved approval of the Minutes from the January 27, 2009 meeting. MOTION PREVAILED AND MINUTES ARE APPROVED.

Chair Mahoney welcomed school children from Princeton High School to the hearing.

A presentation on the Governor’s Workforce Development Council was given by:
Brenda Norman, Executive Director, Governor’s Workforce Development
Mo Amundson, Owner & Consultant, Education-To-Careers (Rochester)

A presentation regarding the Workforce Investment Boards was given by:
Cathy Weik, Chair, Chair, Dakota-Scott Workforce Investment Board
Mark Jacobs, Director Dakota Workforce Investment Board

Chair Mahoney mentioned the Science and Technology on the Hill Day Thursday in the Rotunda.

The Committee was adjourned at 12:00 P.M.
