MINUTES


Representative Mahoney, Chair of the Bioscience and Workforce Development Policy and Oversight Division called the twenty-second meeting to order at 10:35 A.M. on March 31, 2009 in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Peppin moved approval of the Minutes from the March 25, 2009 meeting.
MINUTES ARE APPROVED.

Representative Haws moved H.F. 1948 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Higher Education and Workforce Development Policy and Finance Division.

Representative Haws presented H.F. 1948, a bill related to

economic development; establishing an investment fund for eligible organizations

Testifying on H.F. 1948:

Kathy Gaalswyk, President, Central Minnesota Initiative Foundation
Tom Renier, Northland Foundation

Representative Haws moved to amend H.F. 1948 as follows:

Page 1, line 9, delete "established pursuant to" and insert "selected under"

Page 1, line 9, after "116J.415" insert ", subdivision 3"
AMENDMENT IS ADOPTED.

Representative Haws renewed his motion that H.F. 1948, as amended, be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Higher Education and Workforce Development Policy and Finance Division.
MOTION PREVAILED.
