ENVIRONMENT, ENERGY & NATURAL RESOURCES POLICY AND FINANCE COMMITTEE

MINUTES
Representative Denny McNamara, Chair of the Committee on Environment, Energy and Natural Resources Policy and Finance called the sixty-second meeting to order at 8:20 a.m. on March 13, 2012, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present at 8:20 a.m.

Representative Scott moved that the minutes from the committee meeting on March 8, 2012 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

H.F. 2634 (Torkelson) Subsurface sewage treatment systems alternative local standards provided.

Rep. Torkelson presented H.F. 2634.

Rep. Torkelson moved that H.F. 2634 be passed and re-referred to the Committee on Government Operations and Elections.

Rep. Fabian assumed the gavel at 8:41a.m.

Annalee Garletz, Association of Minnesota Counties and Kirk Koudelka, MN Pollution Control Agency testified on H.F. 2634

Rep. Torkelson renewed his motion that H.F. 2634 be passed and be re-referred to the Committee on Government Operations and Elections. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Fabian moved a recess to the call of the chair at 8:48 a.m.

Rep. McNamara reconvened the Committee on Energy, Environment and Natural Resources Policy and Finance at 8:56 a.m.

H.F. 2214 (Hancock) Beltrami County; tax-forfeited land bordering public water public sale authorized.

Rep. Hancock presented H.F. 2214.

Rep. Hancock moved that H.F. 2214 be passed and placed on the General Register.

Rep. Hancock moved the H2214DE1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. The amendment was adopted.

Kathy Lewis, MN Department of Natural Resources and John Ongaro, St. Louis County, testified on H.F. 2214.

Rep. Dill moved H.F. 2022 as an amendment for H.F. 2214. THE MOTION PREVAILED. The amendment was adopted.

H.F. 2214 was laid over.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:30 a.m.
