MINUTES

Representative Nornes, Chair of the Higher Education Policy and Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 1:24 PM on March 13, 2012 in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

HF 2268 (Abeler) Board of Trustees of Minnesota State Colleges and Universities policy on awarding college credit for tech-prep programs implementation required.

Testifying:

A quorum was present.

Representative Benson moved that the minutes from the committee meeting on March 6, 2012 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Nornes moved that HF 2268 be heard and considered for possible inclusion in the Higher Education Omnibus bill.

The committee heard testimony of HF 2268.

Chair Nornes moved that HF 2268 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Higher Education Omnibus Bill. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 2507 (Dettmer) Safety officer survivor graduate study education benefit authorized.

Representative Dettmer moved that HF 2507 be heard and considered for possible inclusion in the Higher Education Omnibus bill.

Representative Dettmer moved the H2507A1 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

The committee heard testimony on HF 2507, as amended.

Chair Nornes moved that HF 2507, as amended, be laid over for possible inclusion in the Higher Education Omnibus Bill. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 2573 (Dettmer) college savings plan contingent account holder definition modified.

Representative Dettmer moved that HF 2573 be heard and considered for possible inclusion in the Higher Education Omnibus bill.
