MINUTES

Representative McFarlane, Vice Chair of the Jobs and Economic Development Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 12:45 p.m. on March 22, 2011, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was not present.

Chair Gunther discussed HF 1049 (Jobs and Economic Development Omnibus Bill).

A quorum was present at 12:47 p.m.

Chair Gunther moved HF1049 before committee to pass and be re-referred to the Ways and Means Committee.

Chair Gunther moved amendment H1049DE4. THE MOTION PREVAILED, AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

House Fiscal Analyst Staff Ron Soderberg discussed H1049DE4.

House Research Staff Anita Neumann discussed H1049DE4.

Testifying before committee on behalf of the BioBusiness Alliance was Dale Wahlstrom, President and CEO.

Testifying before committee on behalf of the SW Housing Partnership was Rick Goodeman, Director.

Testifying before committee on behalf of the Minnesota Trade Office was Katie Clark, Director and Neil Crocker on behalf of the Schaefer Ventilation.

Testifying before committee on behalf of Lifetrack Resources was Trixie Goldberg, President.

Testifying before committee on behalf of Heading Home Minnesota was Laura Kadwell, Director.

Testifying before committee on behalf of Northern Connections was Maureen Kenney, Executive Director.

Testifying before committee on behalf of the National Federation of the Blind was Jennifer Dunnam, President.

Testifying before committee on behalf of the Corporation for Supportive Housing was George Stone, Program Director.

Testifying before committee on behalf of Advocating Change Together, Inc. was Rick Cardenas, Director and Katie McDermott Advocate for Program, and Mary Kennedy.

Testifying before committee on behalf of Minnesota Workforce Council Association was Anne Olson, Director, and on behalf of the Minneapolis Employment and Training Program was Deb Bahr-Helgen, Director and on behalf of the Minneapolis Park Board was Kirk Pederson, Director.

The meeting was recessed at 2:18 p.m.

The meeting reconvened at 4:33 p.m. in Room 5.

Representative Kieffer assumed gavel at 4:33 p.m.

Representative Stensrud moved to approve committee minutes of March 17, 2011. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
