PUBLIC SAFETY AND CRIME PREVENTION POLICY AND FINANCE COMMITTEE

MINUTES

Representative Woodard, Vice Chair of the Public Safety and Crime Prevention Policy and Finance Committee, called the thirty-seventh meeting to order at 10:17 a.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2011, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Gruenhagen moved that the minutes of April 29, 2011, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF1067 (Nelson) Rail bank property prohibited activities provisions modified, and misdemeanor penalty imposed.

Representative Gauthier moved that HF1067 be recommended to pass and sent to the General Register.

Representative Gauthier moved to orally amend HF1067: line 1.10, insert "knowingly" before "perform". THE ORAL AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

The committee heard testimony on HF1067.

Representative Gauthier renewed his motion that HF1067 be recommended to pass and sent to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF0718 (Champion) Civil rights restoration and civil rights possible loss notices required, and incarcerated offenders excluded from receiving absentee ballots.

Representative Gauthier moved that HF0718 be recommended to pass and sent to the General Register.

Chairman Cornish assumed the gavel at 10:26 a.m.

Representative Bobby Jo Champion provided testimony on HF0718.

Representative Gauthier renewed his motion that HF0718 be recommended to pass and sent to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The meeting was adjourned at 10:45 a.m.
