PUBLIC SAFETY AND CRIME PREVENTION POLICY AND FINANCE COMMITTEE

MINUTES

Representative Woodard, Vice-Chair of the Public Safety and Crime Prevention Policy and Finance Committee, called the forty-seventh meeting to order at 10:17 a.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2012, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

A quorum was present.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Moran moved that the minutes of February 23, 2012, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2409 (Shimanski) Police civilian review uniform authority procedures provided.

Representative Kelly moved that HF2409 be recommended to pass and sent to the General Register.

The committee heard testimony on HF2409.

Representative Kelly renewed his motion that HF2409 be recommended to pass and sent to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2491 (Kelly) Domestic abuse no contact order provided as a criminal order, and proceeding provisions modified.

Representative Kelly moved that HF2491 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Judiciary Policy and Finance Committee.

The committee heard testimony on HF2491.

Representative Kelly renewed his motion that HF2491 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Judiciary Policy and Finance Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Daudt assumed the gavel at 11:41 a.m.

HF2415 (Cornish) Victim notification regarding offenders by Department of Corrections permitted to include electronic notification in addition to written notification.

Representative Cornish moved HF2415 before the committee.

The committee heard testimony on HF2415.

Representative Cornish moved the H2415DE1 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Cornish moved that HF2415, as amended, be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Ways and Means Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The meeting was adjourned at 11:55 a.m.
