MINUTES

Representative Atkins, Chair of Committee on Commerce and Consumer Protection Finance and Policy, called the meeting to order at 4:06 PM February 26, 2013 in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Rep. Halvorson moved that the minutes from the meeting on February 19, 2013 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Anderson moved that the minutes from the meeting on February 25, 2013 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 711 (Ward, J.E.) Explore MN Tourism money appropriated.

Rep. Atkins moved HF 711 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Tourism Budget Bill.

The following people gave testimony on HF 711:

HF 711 was laid over for possible inclusion in the Tourism Budget Bill.

Rep. Fritz assumed the gavel.

HF 712 (Atkins) Rental motor vehicles tax revenue deposit modified

Rep. Atkins moved that HF 712 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the committee on Taxes.

Rep. Atkins moved that HF 712 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the committee on Taxes. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Atkins assumed the gavel.

HF 791 (Hortman) Annuity products regulated, and model regulation adoption enacted and modified by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners relating to Suitability in annuity transactions.

Rep. Hortman moved HF 791 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the General Register.

Rep. Hortman moved amendment H0791A1. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED

Rep. Hortman moved an oral amendment to add to line 6.9 "and the elevated review shall be conducted by a natural person or persons." THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Rep. Hortman moved HF 791 be recommended to pass, as amended, and re-referred to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The meeting was adjourned at 5:30 PM.
