Representative Mariani, Chair of Committee on Education Policy, called the meeting to order at 6:05 P.M., March 10, 2014 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Chair Mariani moved that H.F. 1942 be re-referred to the Committee on Government Operations

Rep. Mullery presented H.F. 1942 (Mullery) Cultural and Ethnic Leadership Communities Council established for the Education Department

The following people offered testimony on H.F. 1942:

Rep. Brynaert moved that the minutes of March 5, 2014 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED

Chair Mariani moved that H.F. 2012 be re-referred, as amended to the General Register

Rep. Dettmer presented H.F. 2012, as amended (Dettmer) High school students with disabilities allowed to transfer between schools without affecting their eligibility for varsity competition.

Rep. Benson moved that H.F. 2230 be re-referred to the Committee on Education Finance

Rep. Benson presented H.F. 2230 (Benson) Innovative delivery pilot project clarified, and money appropriated.

Chair Mariani renews his motion that H.F. 2230 be re-referred to the Committee on Education Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Isaacson moved that H.F. 2861 be re-referred to the Committee on Education Finance

Rep. Isaacson presented H.F. 2861 (Isaacson) Education commissioner directed to consult with experts to determine the content and status of Minnesota's career and technical education programs.

Rep. Isaacson moved to amend H.F. 2861 (see attached amendment A14-0835) THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
