MINUTES

Representative Simon, Chair of Committee on Elections, called the meeting to order at 12:30pm on March 14, 2013 in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

HF894 (Simon) Polling place challengers training required, and additional requirements imposed.

Rep. Simon moved HF894 be recommended to pass and be referred to Committee on Government Operations.

Rep. Simon moved H0894DE1 amendment. The motion prevailed.

Chair Halverson moved that H0894A10 amendment be adopted. The motion prevailed.

Rep. O’Driscoll moved that H0894A14 amendment be adopted. The motion prevailed.

Rep. Sanders moved that H0894A11 amendment be adopted.

Rep. Sanders withdrew H0894A11 amendment.

Rep. Urdahl moved that H0894A12 amendment be adopted. The motion prevailed.

Rep. O’Driscoll moved that H0894A13 amendment be adopted.

Rep. O’Driscoll withdrew H0894A13 amendment.

Rep. Simon renewed motion that H0894A7
Rep. Johnson moved that
H0894A20 be adopted.

Rep. Johnson withdrew amendment H0894A20.

Rep. Sanders offered oral amendment on page 8, line 26 delete “…” and insert “eight”. The amendment was adopted.

Rep. Simon renewed motion that HF894, as amended, be recommended to pass be referred to State Government Operations. The motion prevailed.

The motion prevailed.

Rep. Urdahl moved approval of minutes from the March 7, 2013 meeting. The motion prevailed.
