HOUSE HEALTH CARE AND HUMAN SERVICES FINANCE COMMITTEE

Chair Thomas Huntley began the fourteenth meeting of the Health Care and Human Services Finance Committee at 10:17 a.m. in Room 200 of the State Office Building on Thursday, February 14, 2013.

HF 5 (Atkins) - Minnesota Insurance Marketplace established, powers and duties prescribed, right to not participate established, open meeting requirements and data practices procedures specified, and money appropriated.

At 10:22 a.m. a quorum was present. The Chair officially called the meeting to order and the committee legislative assistant noted the roll:

Representative Norton moved approval of the February 13, 2013 minutes. The minutes were approved subject to corrections by the committee legislative assistant.

Testifying on the Governor's budget pertaining to Minnesota Department of Health:

At 11:34 a.m. the Chair recessed the committee until one hour after session.

At 6:58 p.m. the committee reconvened and Chair Huntley moved HF 5 be recommended to pass and be rereferred to the Committee on Taxes.

Representative Norton moved approval of the February 13, 2013, minutes. Technical corrections are noted and the minutes are approved, as corrected by the Committee Legislative Assistant.

HF5: Minnesota Insurance Marketplace established, powers and duties prescribed, right to not participate established, and money appropriated.
After reconvening and taking official possession of the bill, public testimony will continue on HF5.

Amendments are due by Friday, Feb. 15 at 2 p.m. to the committee administrator. The committee will also accept the INTENTION of AMENDMENTS by 2 p.m. with a brief description of the amendment to be drafted. Both cacuses will receive updated lists as soon as the CA is notified; hard copies will be posted on the website as soon as they are available.
