MINUTES

Representative Murphy, Chair of Committee on State Government Finance and Veterans Affairs, called the meeting to order at 12:31 February 27, 2013 in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Dr. Eric Jolly, Executive Director and Brenda Raney presented an overview and review of Governor's recommendations for Science Museum of Minnesota.

Dr. Eric Jolly answered questions from committee members.

David O'Fallon, Executive Director; presented an overview and review of Governor's recommendations for Minnesota Humanities Center.

Trista Matascastillo and Sam Verdeja talked about their partnership with the Minnesota Humanities Center and answered questions from committee members.

David O'Fallon answered questions from committee members.

Gary Goldsmith, Executive Director; presented an overview and review of Governor's recommendations for Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board.

Joel Glaser, Executive Director and Tom Hanson; presented an overview and review of Governor's recommendations for Public Broadcasting-AMPERS.

Chair Murphy announced the committee was out of time and questions for AMPERS could have to continue at 6:50 tonight when the committee reconvened.

Chair Murphy announced that the committee on State Government Finance and Veterans Affairs would be in recess until 6:50 tonight.

Chair Murphy announced at 6:51 that the committee on State Government Finance and Veterans Affairs would reconvene from recess.

Joel Glaser, Executive Director of AMPERS answered questions from committee members.

Lisa Radzak, Managing Director of Public Affairs and Government Relations; presented an overview and review of Governor's recommendations for Public Broadcasting- Minnesota Public Radio.

Bill Strusinski, Friends of MN Public TV, Al Harmon, President of the Minnesota Public Television Association and General Manager, WDSE TV in Duluth and Les Heen, President & General Manager at Pioneer Public Television; presented an overview and review of Governor's recommendations for Public Broadcasting-Public Television.

Spencer Cronk, Commissioner; presented an overview and review of Governor's recommendations for Department of Administration.

Lenora Madigan, Chief Financial Officer for Dept. of Administration answered questions from committee members.

Wayne Waslaski Director of real estate and Construction Services for Dept. of Administration answered questions from committee members.

Mike McElhiney, Legislative Liaison and Alisha Cowell, Finance Director; presented an overview and review of Governor's recommendations for Dept. of Veterans Affairs.

Jim Reinholdz, House Controller; presented an overview and review of Governor's recommendations for Legislature.

Greg Hubinger, Executive Director of the LCC presented an overview and review of the Governor's recommendations for LCC.

Jim Nobles, Legislative Auditor for Office of the Legislative Auditor; discussed the Governor's budget recommendations and answered questions from committee members.

Michele Timmons, Revisor of Statutes for Office of the Revisor of Statutes; discussed the Governor's budget recommendations and stood for questions from committee members.

Robbie LaFleur, Director of the Legislative Reference Library; discussed the Governor's budget recommendations and stood for questions from committee members.

Larry Martin, Executive Director for Commission on Pensions and Retirement; discussed the Governor's budget recommendation and stood for questions from committee members.

Greg Hubinger responded to overall questions on the budget recommendations for the legislature.

Public Testimony was invited.

Chair Murphy announced the next meeting would be on Monday, March 4th, 2013.

The meeting was adjourned at 10: 50 PM.
