MINUTES

Representative Hamilton, Chair of the Agriculture Finance Committee, started the meeting at 10:18 A.M. on April 7, 2015, in Room Five of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Hamilton started the meeting at 10:18 A.M. A quorum was not present.

At 10:22 A.M a quorum was present, and Representative Hamilton called the meeting to order.

Representative Fabian moved that the minutes of March 26, 2015 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2058 Petersburg, Local food promotion and education event funding provided, and money appropriated.

President of the Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation, Tim Penny, provided testimony on HF2058.

Chair Hamilton laid over HF2058.

HF1845 Swedzinksi, Interagency feasibility study required.

Rob Hutchens, owner of Oswald Fisheries, and Ron Meuwissen with Kens Bait provided testimony on HF1845.

Chair Hamilton laid over HF1845.

HF1905 Metsa, Butcher training pilot program established.

Chair Hamilton laid over HF1905.

HF1904 Anderson, P., Retail petroleum dispenser grant by the commissioner of agriculture funding provided, and money appropriated.

Tim Rudnicki with the Minnesota Bio-Fuels Association provided testimony on HF1904.

Chair Hamilton laid over HF91904.

Vice-Chair Kiel assumed the gavel at 11:13 A.M.

HF779 Hamilton, Agriculture Research, Education, Extension, and Technology Transfer Board established, and money appropriated.
Jerry Schoenfeld with the Minnesota Soybean Growers Association and Bobby King with the Land Stewardship Project provided testimony on HF779.

Vice-Chair Kiel laid over HF779.

Shianne Teas and Andrea Hanson with the Aitkin County Chapter of Future Farmers of America (FFA) provided a presentation on their organization.

The meeting was adjourned at 11:52 A.M.
