MINUTES

Representative Sanders, Chair of the Government Operations and Election Policy, called the meeting to order at 10:18 AM on March 17, 2016 in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Fenton moved to approve the minutes from March 16, 2016.

THE MOTION PREVAILED

HF2270 (Petersburg) Workers plaque authorized at the Capitol building, and money appropriated.

Chair Sanders moved to amend HF2270 (See attached amendment H2270DE1).

THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED

Chair Sanders moved to re-refer HF2270, as amended, to the Committee on State Government Finance.

THE MOTION PREVAILED

HF2603 (Green) Open meeting law modified, open meeting with public comment prior to land acquisition required.

The following testified on HF2603:

Bob Meier – Department of Natural Resources Assistant Commissioner
Rick Heller - Individual

Chair Sanders moved to amend HF2603 (See attached amendment H2603A1)

THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED

Chair Sanders moved to re-refer HF2603, as amended, to the committee on Civil Law and Data Practices.

THE MOTION PREVAILED

HF887 (O’Driscoll) Unclaimed lottery prize money dedicated for acquisition of school trust lands, condemnation of school trust lands to be acquired provided, and money appropriated.

The following testified on HF887:
Tim O’Driscoll – State Representative
Rick Heller – Individual

Representative Nelson moved to orally amend HF877.

“Strike section 1 and re-number the sections accordingly”

THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED

Representative O’Driscoll moved to re-refer HF887, as amended, to the committee on Commerce and Regulatory Reform.

THE MOTION PREVAILED

The committee adjourned at 11:40 AM.
