HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES FINANCE COMMITTEE
MINUTES

Representative Dean, Chair of the Health and Human Services Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 12:54pm on March 5th, 2015, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Dean began the meeting at 12:49pm, a quorum was NOT present.

A quorum was present at 12:52pm. The meeting was called to order at 12:54pm.

Representative Hamilton moved approval of the March 4th, 2015 minutes. The motion PREVAILED. The minutes were APPROVED.

Representative Hamilton moved that HF 832 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Health and Human Services Omnibus bill.

Representative Hamilton moves the A1 amendment. The motion PREVAILED.

Representative Hamilton and Renee Frauendienst, Director of the Public Health Division, Stearns County, presented on HF 189, as amended.

Representative Hamilton renewed his motion that HF 832, as amended, be laid over for possible inclusion in the Health and Human Services Omnibus bill. The motion PREVAILED.

Representative Dean moved that HF 346 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Health and Human Services Omnibus bill.

Representative Dean moved an oral amendment: Line 1.7, insert after 2016,”and $800,000 in fiscal year 2017”. The motion PREVAILED.

Representative Hoppe and Uglem; Deb Anderson, Director, MN Poison Control System; Dr. Jon Cole, American College of Emergency Physicians; Bucko Thompson, Parent and Pharmacist, Warroad, MN, all presented on HF346, as amended.

Representative Dean renewed his motion that HF 346, as amended, be laid over for possible inclusion in the Health and Human Services Omnibus bill. The motion PREVAILED.

Representative Schomacker moved that HF 1201 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Health and Human Services Omnibus bill.

Representative Schomacker; Dave Lee, Carlton County Public Health and Human Services; Laura Weber, Crisis Connection Manager, Canvas Health; Nathan Hart, St. Croix Valley Paramedics; Dan Hansen and Ben Ashley-Wurtmann, Policy & Outreach Associate, Mental Health Association of Minnesota, Sue Abderholden, Executive Director, NAMI MN, all presented on HF 1201.

Representative Schomacker renewed his motion that HF 1201 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Health and Human Services Omnibus bill. The motion PREVAILED.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:10pm.
