MINUTES

Representative Davids, Chair of the Tax Committee, began the meeting at 10:15 A.M. on March 18th, 2015, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Davids began the meeting at 10:15. A quorum was NOT present.

A quorum was present at 10:20 and the meeting was called to order.

Representative Simonson moved to approve the minutes from March 17th, 2015. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Davids moved that HF263 come before the committee.

HF263 Peterson: School tickets and admissions sales tax exemption made permanent.

Representative Peterson, Dave Stead of the Minnesota State High School League, and Roger Aronson, testified on HF263, first engrossment.

Representative Davids moved that HF263 be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus tax bill.

Representative Swedzinski moved that HF167 come before the committee.

HF167 Nornes: Agricultural drain tiles exempted from sales tax.

Representative Nornes testified on HF167, first engrossment.

Representative Swedzinski moved that HF167 be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus tax bill.

Representative Petersburg moved that HF532 come before the committee.
HF532 Petersburg: Nonprofit ticket or admission sales tax exemption clarified.

Representative Petersburg, Bob Zelenka, Chairman of Farmamerica, Roger Steinkamp, Executive Director of Farmamerica, and Paul Cumings of the Minnesota Department of Revenue, testified on HF532, first engrossment.

Representative Swedzinski moved that HF532 be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus tax bill.

Representative Knoblach moved that HF1829 come before the committee.

HF1829 Knoblach: Sales and excise tax; June accelerated payments repealed.

Representative Knoblach, Bruce Nustad of the Minnesota Retailers Association, and Cynthia Templin of the Minnesota House of Representatives Fiscal Staff, testified on HF1829, first engrossment.

Representative Knoblach moved that HF1829 be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus tax bill.

Representative Anzelc moved that HF416 come before the committee.

HF416 Anzelc: Direct reduced iron tax incentive reinstated, and apportionment of occupation taxes modified.

Representative Anzelc, Craig Pagel of the Iron Mining Association, and Jeff Richards of the Department of Natural Resources, testified on HF416, first engrossment.

Representative Anzelc moved that HF416 be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus tax bill.
