MINUTES

Representative Loon, Chair of the Education Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 1:09 P.M. on March 15th, 2017, in Room Five of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Jurgens moved that the minutes of March 14th, 2017 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2104 Zerwas, Compensatory education revenue modified.

Representative Loon moved that that HF2104 be laid over for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill or for further action at a later time.

Representative Jenifer Loon reconvened the Education Finance Committee at 3:08 P.M. in the Basement Committee Room.

HF1324 Metsa, Education Innovation Partners Cooperative Center appropriation availability ex-tended.

Representative Loon moved that HF1324 be laid over for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill or for further action at a later time.

Representative Loon moved the H01324A4 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Metsa testified on HF1324, as amended.

Tim Lutz, Superintendent of Kelliher School, testified on HF1886.

HF146 Davnie, Full-service community school funding provided, and money appropriated.

Representative Davnie move that HF146 be laid over for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill or for further action at a later time.

HF1825 Loon, Perpich Center for the Arts abolished; and Education Department position created, conveyance of the Perch Arts High School and Crosswinds Arts and Science School planned.

Representative Thissen moved the H1825DE1 amendment and incorporated an oral amendment on line 4.23 to change “15, 2019” to “20, 2018”. THE MOTION DID NOT PREVAIL AND THE AMENDMENT WAS NOT ADOPTED.

Representative Loon renewed the motion that HF1825 be laid over for possible inclusion in an om-nibus bill or for further action at a later time.

The meeting was adjourned at 5:18 P.M.
