MINUTES

Representative O’Driscoll, Chair of the Government Operations and Elections Policy, began the meeting at 10:15AM on March 14th, 2017, in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Chair O’Driscoll called the meeting to order at 10:27AM. A quorum was present.

HF812 (Debra Kiel) Abortion performing facility licensure required, licensing fee required, and money appropriated.

Chair O’Driscoll moved that HF812 come before the committee and be re-referred to the Health and Human Services Finance Committee.

Representative Kiel testified regarding HF812.

The following testified regarding HF812:
Andrea Rau, Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life,
Andrea Ledger, Pro Choice Minnesota.

Chair O’Driscoll renewed the motion that HF812 be re-referred to the Health and Human Services Finance Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2039 (Cindy Pugh) Statewide voter registration system status changes and removals required to be included in public information lists.

Chair O’Driscoll moved that HF2039 come before the committee and be held over for possible inclusion in the Government Operations and Elections omnibus bill.

Representative Pugh testified regarding H2039.

Representative Pugh moved the HF2039DE1 amendment. Representative Nelson requested a roll call. The results were as follows:

Chair O’Driscoll renewed the motion that HF2039, as amended, be held over for possible inclusion in the Government Operations and Elections omnibus bill.

Representative Youakim moved to approve the minutes of March 10th. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2271 (Cindy Pugh) Potential election judge lists required to include the names of individuals willing to travel outside of their home jurisdiction to act as an election judge.

Chair O’Driscoll moved that HF2271 come before the committee and be held over for possible inclusion in the Government Operations and Elections omnibus bill.

Representative Pugh testified regarding HF2271.

Chair O’Driscoll moved that HF2354 come before the committee and be held over for possible inclusion in the Government Operations and Elections omnibus bill.
