MINUTES

Representative Pat Garofalo, Chair of the Job Growth & Energy Affordability Policy & Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 2:59 PM on Wednesday, February 1, 2017, in Room 10 of the State Office Building. A quorum was not present.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Sundin moved the minutes of January 31, 2017 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF315 (Anderson) Tax credits for parental leave costs allowed.

Representative Garofalo moved HF315 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Taxes.

Representative Garofalo moved the H0315A1 amendment be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Dan McElroy, Vice President, Minnesota Restaurant Association; Carrie Heiberg, citizen; Todd Mikkelson, Owner, Sprayrack.com; Holly Larson, citizen; Angela Byrne, citizen; Bruce Nordstrom-Loeb, Retired Professor, St. Olaf College; Kate Schaefers, President, American Association of Retired Persons Minnesota; Jessica Anderson, Legislative Affairs Director, Children’s Defense Fund; Bernie Hesse, Director of Special Projects Legislative and Political Action; United Food and Commercial Workers International Union; Kim Houle, Service Employees International Union Local 26; Brad Lehto, Legislative Director/Chief of Staff, Minnesota American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations; Lisa Stratton, Co-Founder and Senior Council, Gender Justice; testified on HF315.

Representative Garofalo renewed his motion that HF315, as amended, be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Taxes. Representative Baker requested a roll call vote. The results were as follows:
