MINUTES

Representative Runbeck, Chair of the Transportation and Regional Governance Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 1:00 P.M. on February 6th, 2017, in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Chair Runbeck called the meeting to order at 1:03 P.M. A quorum was present.

Representative Barr, R. moved the minutes of February 1st, 2017. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF135 (Fenton) Oakdale and Woodbury; I-94, I-494, and I-694 interchange safety improvement study required.

Chair Runbeck moved that HF135 be re-referred to the Committee on Transportation Finance.

Representative Kelly Fenton presented HF135.

Stan Karkowski, Washington County Commissioner, testified in favor of HF135.

Paul Reinke, Mayor of Oakdale, testified in favor of HF135

John Bradford, Woodbury City Engineer, testified in favor of HF135.

Adam Josephson, East Area Manager, Minnesota Department of Transportation, testified on HF135.

Chair Runbeck renewed her motion that HF135 be re-referred to the Committee on Transportation Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF192 (Heintzeman) Driving without a valid license repeat violation penalties enhanced and minimum fines established.

Chair Runbeck moved that HF192 be re-referred to the Committee on Public Safety and Security Policy and Finance.

Representative Josh Heintzeman presented HF192.

Chair Runbeck renewed her motion that HF192 be re-referred to the Committee on Public Safety and Security Policy and Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF257 (Anderson, S.) Retired law enforcement special license plates established.

Chair Runbeck moved that HF257 be re-referred to the Committee on Transportation Finance.

Representative Sarah Anderson presented HF257.

Paul Bierhaus, retired police officer, testified in favor of HF257.

Chair Runbeck renewed her motion that HF257 be re-referred to the Committee on Transportation Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.





Chair Runbeck adjourned the meeting at 1:54 P.M.
