PUBLIC SAFETY AND CRIMINAL JUSTICE REFORM FINANCE AND POLICY DIVISION

MINUTES

Representative Mariani, Chair of the Public Safety and Criminal Justice Reform Finance and Policy Division, called the meeting to order at 12:54 P.M. on March 12th, 2020, in room 120 of the State Capitol Building. A quorum was present.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Edelson moved to approve the minutes for the March 10th, 2020 meeting. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES WERE ADOPTED.

Presentation on The Effect of Federal Immigration Enforcement on State Public Safety.

Reuben Moore, CEO for the Minnesota Community Care

HF 3061 (Lee) Jail authority to house federal inmates modified.

Representative Lee presented HF3061.

Chair Mariani moved to amend the A20-0707 Amendment with the A3Amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Johnson moved to amend the A20-0707 Amendment with the A1 Amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chair Mariani moved to amend HF3061, as amended, with the A20-0707 Amendment.

Representative Nash requested a roll call vote on the A20-0707 Amendment, as amended.
