MINUTES

Representative Hornstein, Chair of the Transportation Finance & Policy Division, called the Fifteenth meeting to order at 9:06 A.M. on March 1st, 2019 in the Blaine City Council Chambers.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Chair Hornstein called the meeting to order at 9:06am. A quorum was present.

Representative Petersburg moved to approve the minutes of February 26th, 2019. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF1654 (Bernardy, C.) Anoka; relating to transportation; appropriating money for certain safety improvements and engineering evaluations.

Representative Bernardy moved HF1654 for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill.

Representative Bernardy introduced her bill.

Dan Buchholtz, City Administrator, Spring Lake Park, testified in support of HF1654.

Representative Heinrich moved the A19-0074 Amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

HF1597 (West, N.) Anoka; relating to capital investment; appropriating money for an underpass on marked Trunk Highway 65; authorizing the sale and issuance of trunk highway bonds.

Representative West moved HF1597 for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill.

Representative West introduced his bill.

Doug Fischer, Transportation Division Manager and Anoka County Engineer, testified in support of HF1597.

Brian Podany, Blaine Police Chief, testified in support of HF1597.

HF1408 (Koegel, E.) Anoka; relating to public safety; authorizing peace officers to issue citations based on report from work zone flagger; prohibiting wireless communications device use in work zones; providing penalties.

Representative Koegel introduced her bill.

Tim Worke, CEO, Associated General Contractors, testified in support of HF1408.

David Debevec, Ulland Brothers Construction, testified in support of HF1408.

Representative Koegel moved the H1408A1 Amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

HF1310 (Koegel, E.) Anoka; relating to transportation; appropriating money for safety improvement and an engineering evaluation on a segment of the marked Trunk Highway 47 corridor in Anoka County, requiring a report.

Representative Koegel introduced her bill.

Chair Hornstein laid over HF1310 for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill.


HF1697 (Koegel, E.) Anoka; relating to transportation; capital improvements; appropriating money for East River Road interchange improvements at marked Trunk Highway 610; authorizing the sale and issuance of state bonds.
