EARLY CHILDHOOD FINANCE AND POLICY COMMITTEE
MINUTES

Representative Dave Pinto, Chair of the Committee on Early Childhood Finance and Policy, called the remote meeting to order at 8:30 AM on February 16, 2021 pursuant to House rule 10.01. The meeting was broadcast via Zoom and House Public Information Services.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll call.

A quorum was present.

Vice Chair Pryor moved that the minutes from February 11, 2021 meeting be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Presentations on the Preschool Development Grant Update and the Governor’s Budget Proposals relating to Early Childhood from the Children’s Cabinet, Minnesota Department of Education, Minnesota Department of Health, and the Minnesota Department of Human Services.

• Bobbie Burnham, Assistant Commissioner, Minnesota Department of Education

• Laurie Possin, Program Manager, Department of Human Services

Vice-Chair Pryor assumed the gavel at 9:50.

Chair Pinto moved that HF 5 be placed in front of committee.

Chair Pinto moved the DE1 Amendment before the committee.

Chair Pinto presented the DE1 Amendment.

Vice-Chair Pryor laid over HF 5 for discussion at a future hearing.

Chair Pinto Assumed the Gavel at 9:54.


The meeting was adjourned at 9:56 AM.
