HEALTH FINANCE AND POLICY COMMITTEE

MINUTES

Representative Tina Liebling, Chair of the Committee, called the virtual Health Finance and Policy Committee meeting to order at 3:00 P.M. on March 16, 2021 pursuant to House rule 10.01. The meeting is being broadcast via Zoom and House Public Information Services.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Presentation on portions of Governor Walz’s budget changes pertaining to the Department of Human Services (DHS).

Matt Anderson, Assistant Commissioner, Health Care Administration, DHS, gave an overview of the budget changes in the following areas:

1. Child and teen check-ups
2. Federal interoperability rule compliance
3. Expand encounter altering system

Diogo Reis, Fee-for-Service Policy and Rates Manager, DHS, responded to member questions.

Kulani Moti, Inspector General, DHS, gave an overview of the budget changes in background studies.

Sarah Orange, Budget and Finance Director, Health Care Administration, DHS, responded to member questions.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:23 P.M.
