FINANCE & POLICY MINUTES

Representative Connie Bernardy, Chair of the Committee on Higher Education Finance and Policy, called the virtual meeting to order at 3:00 PM on March 2, 2022, pursuant to House rule 10.01. The meeting was conducted over Zoom and broadcast via House Public Information Services.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Sandstede moved that the minutes of March 1, 2022, be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 2859 (Howard); Assigned student responsibility for state grant program decreased, and existing appropriation increased.

Representative Bernardy moved that HF 2859 be laid over for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill.

Representative Bernardy renewed the motion that HF 2859 be laid over for possible inclusion in a committee omnibus bill.


HF 3252 (Mariani); Higher education; state grant program parameters modified, state colleges and universities developmental education restrictions modified, Officer of Higher Education grant programs created, reports required, and money appropriated.

Representative Bernardy moved that HF 3252 be laid over for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill.

Representative Bernardy renewed the motion that HF 3252 be laid over for possible inclusion in a committee omnibus bill.

HF 3776 (Noor); Income tax subtraction provided for grants, and funding increased for the emergency assistance for postsecondary students program.

Representative Bernardy moved that HF 3776 be referred to the Committee on Taxes.

Representative Bernardy renewed the motion that HF 3776 be referred to the Committee on Taxes.

The clerk took the roll on HF 3776.
