JUDICIARY FINANCE AND CIVIL LAW MINUTES

Representative Jamie Becker-Finn, Chair of the Committee on Judiciary Finance and Civil Law, called the virtual meeting to order at 8:30 AM on March 11, 2021 pursuant to House rule 10.01. The meeting was broadcast via Zoom and House Public Information Services.

Chair Becker-Finn moved that HF 257 be recommended to be re-referred to the Climate and Energy Finance and Policy Committee.

Chair Becker-Finn moved that the H0257A5 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Wazlawik presented HF 257 as amended, a bill for an act relating to energy; modifying certain utility requirements; prohibiting certain restrictions on the use of residential solar energy systems; amending Minnesota Statutes 2020, sections 216B.164, subdivision 3, by adding a subdivision; 515.07; 515B.2-103; 515B.3-102; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 500.

Chair Becker-Finn presented HF 1007, a bill for an act relating to judiciary; providing that certain court filing fees are not applicable to actions brought by federally recognized Indian tribes; amending Minnesota Statutes 2020, section 357.021, subdivision 1a.

Representative Reyer presented HF 2010, a bill for an act relating to human rights; requiring an interactive process when interacting with individuals with disabilities under chapter 363A; amending Minnesota Statutes 2020, section 363A.08, subdivision 6.
