JUDICIARY FINANCE AND CIVIL LAW MINUTES

Representative Jamie Becker-Finn, Chair of the Committee on Judiciary Finance and Civil Law, called the virtual meeting to order at 8:30 AM on April 5, 2022 pursuant to House rule 10.01. The meeting was broadcast via Zoom and House Public Information Services.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Hollins moved that the minutes of March 31, 2022 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Becker-Finn moved HF4125 to be laid over for potential inclusion in an omnibus bill.

Representative Nelson presented HF4125, a bill for an act relating to the financing of state government; appropriating money for certain constitutional offices, state agencies, and Veterans Affairs; modifying data practices provisions; establishing the Office of Enterprise Translations and the language access service account; establishing county and local cybersecurity grants; modifying provisions governing burial grounds and cemeteries; modifying provisions governing military veterans; establishing a Veterans Service Organization grant program; amending Minnesota Statutes 2020, sections 13.04, subdivision 4; 13.072, subdivision 1; 16A.126, subdivision 1; 16A.1286, subdivision 2; 197.608, subdivisions 4, 6; 197.79, subdivisions 1, 2, 3, 5, 10; 307.08, as amended; Laws 2021, First Special Session chapter 12, article 5, section 2, subdivision 1; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapters 16B; 16E; 197.

Chair Becker-Finn renewed the motion that HF4125 be laid over for potential inclusion in an omnibus bill.

*An author’s Delete-All amendment to House File 3920 (Becker-Finn) will be posted by April 1st, 2022. The deadline to submit amendments to the DE is 10am on Wednesday, April 6th, 2022. Action will be taken on the bill, Thursday April 7th, 2022.
